Course Description
Explores basic principles of nutrition with an emphasis on applications to fitness, weight management and athletic performance. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Discuss nutrients and their influence on exercise and performance.
- Calculate general nutritional needs based on client goals.
- Educate clients on nutrition needs using scientifically sound information.
- Apply behavior change and motivational strategies to enhance client achievement of nutritional goals.
