Course Description
This module explores the purposes, proper utilization, limitations of therapeutic equipment in advanced medic practice. You will gain knowledge needed to initiate the devices and monitor their effectiveness.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:
1. describe the appropriate utilization of CPAP and BiPAP, advanced airways, mechanical ventilators, pleural evacuation devices, infusion pumps, urinary catheters, NG and OG tubes, and cystotomy catheters.
2. list the steps of implementation for each device and the appropriate signs and symptoms to monitor for their effectiveness.
