This course covers both stages of the CFI and CFII Training Course Outline.

The following hours of are required to meet the outcomes for this course, and will be provided by PCC's contracted flight training provider under PCC supervision.  Outcomes will be assessed by written, oral and practical (flight) tests. Flight training fees for this class are based on these hours. If the outcomes for this course are met in fewer hours then listed here, unused flight training fees will be returned to the student or funding provider, as appropriate.

The checkride/written test estimate includes funding for three FAA knowledge tests ($165 each for the Fundamentals of Instruction, Certified Flight Instructor, and Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument knowledge tests), two designated examiner fees ($800 for the CFI practical test and $600 for the CFII practical test), two hours of aircraft rental at the R22 solo rate for the CFI practical test, and two hours of aircraft rental at the R44 solo rate for the CFII practical test.

Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:

1. Fly and teach required maneuvers from the left (instructor) seat to FAA Practical Test Standards.
2. Qualify to take the FAA Helicopter Certified Flight Instructor and Helicopter Instrument Instructor knowledge and practical tests, and qualify to take the FAA Fundamentals of Instructing knowledge test.
3. Provide safe, high-quality flight instruction to students seeking FAA Pilot Certificates.

Evaluation methods will include written, oral, and practical testing. Evaluation levels will meet or exceed those defined by FAA-S-8081-7B  (or subsequent edition) Flight Instructor Rotorcraft Helicopter Practical Test Standards, FAA-S-8081-9D (or subsequent edition) Flight Instructor Instrument Practical Test Standards, and required under 14 CFR 141,  FAA Approved Training Course.
