The IET Program at Portland Community College is your gateway to a rewarding career in welding, healthcare, or childcare. These specialized programs are tailored to help English language learners and GED® students gain the skills needed for success in high-demand industries.
Upcoming Program Details
Fall 2025: Wire Welding
This program is full and no longer accepting applications for this specific term.
- Dates: September 22, 2025 – March 19, 2026
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Location: PCC Rock Creek Campus, in-person classes
- Eligibility: Placement into PCC ESOL Level 5 Reading, Writing, and Communication, or higher
Winter 2026: Nursing Assistant
This program is full and no longer accepting applications for the winter and spring 2026 terms.
- Dates: Winter 2026 term, January 8 – March 21, 2026
- Schedule: 11 week program includes classroom/lab and clinical site placement
- Location: PCC Sylvania Campus, in-person classes
- Eligibility: Placement into PCC ESOL Level 6 Reading, Writing and Communication, or higher.

Winter 2026: Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Dates: January 5 – December 12, 2026
- Schedule: 12 month program includes part-time training during the week, 6 hours of online and in-person training held two Saturdays per month, five hours of online ESL instruction held weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm.
- Location: both online and in-person classes
- Flyers: English, Translated versions
- Partnership between Portland Community College and Mt. Hood Community College

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
