About ASPCC
The recognized student government of PCC
The Associated Students of Portland Community College (ASPCC) is the official student government representing more than 50,000 students across PCC’s campuses and centers. Guided by our Constitution, ASPCC exists to advocate for student needs, uplift student voices, and foster a more equitable and supportive college experience.
Who we are
ASPCC is composed of all enrolled PCC students, who are recognized as General Members. The organization is led by the Associated Student Council (ASC), a group of up to 15 student councilors selected each year.
Our purpose
The Associated Student Council exists to:
- Serve and advocate for student needs, wishes, and interests
- Represent the PCC student body in all endeavors
- Uphold transparency, equity, and responsible stewardship of resources
- Amplify diverse student voices
- Foster an equitable and transformative leadership experience for student leaders
ASPCC is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive college environment for all students and explicitly prohibits discrimination based on any protected status.
Committees and roles
ASPCC operates several permanent committees each year, including:
- Institutional Relations Committee (IRC)
- Student Relations Committee (SRC)
Councilors may also serve as:
- Committee Chairs
- External Liaisons to statewide student organizations
- Digital and Communications Secretaries
- Minute Takers
- Other roles deemed necessary by the Student Council
