Student must post before participating
Many times initial posts are impacted by students’ reading how others in the class have reacted to your topic before writing their own response. Using this setting will force students to post with their original thoughts. Once they post, they will immediately see all posts.
- What is required: A D2L course with a discussion
Steps
- Click on the Discussions link from the course navbar.
- Click the discussion topic action menu and select Edit Topic.
- Click the Post & Completion accordion on the right of the page to reveal more.
- Select Learners must start a thread before they can view or reply to other threads from the options available.
Students will not see any other student posts until they submit their first post. As soon as they post, all other class posts will be visible.
