Access to Sylvania PE Facilities

Facilities are closed on all college recognized holidays and on days when the college is closed due to inclement weather.

PCC Students (Credit, CEU, Community Education)

Present your validated PCC Student ID to the Issue Room staff and provide proof of enrollment in at least one-credit PCC class or the equivalent cost in CEU or Community Education classes.

Students not enrolled in PE classes must pay the current PE facility use fee at the Business Office and present proof of payment at the Issue Room window.

Students under 16 years of age (unless an emancipated minor) must be accompanied by an eligible adult when using Sylvania PE facilities.

Students' Families

Must enroll in PE 10, or any other one-credit class, or the equivalent cost in CEU or Community Education classes, pay the appropriate PE facility use fees at the Business Office, and provide proof of enrollment to the Issue Room staff.

PCC does not provide recreational facility access to student's dependents. Students may enroll their age-eligible children in PE 10 and they will then have all the rights & privileges of a PCC student.     

Community Members

Must enroll in PE 10, or any other one-credit class, or the equivalent cost in CEU or Community Education classes, pay the appropriate PE facility use fees at the Business Office, and provide proof of enrollment to the Issue Room staff.

Those 62 years of age and above need only pay ½ the one-credit tuition, and pay the established PE facility use fees, to use Sylvania PE facilities during posted open recreation hours.

PCC Faculty and Staff

Present your PCC Staff ID to the Issue Room staff in HT 114 and request a locker.

Families of Faculty and Staff

Must enroll in PE 10, or any other one-credit class, or the equivalent cost in CEU or Community Education classes, pay the appropriate PE facility use fees at the Business Office, and provide proof of enrollment to the Issue Room staff.

Minor children must be accompanied by a parent while using Sylvania PE facilities after their school hours & during summer hours.

Emancipated minor children of faculty and staff members must enroll in PE 10, or any other one-credit class, or the equivalent cost in CEU or Community Education classes, and follow the above procedures before using Sylvania PE facilities unless arrangements have been made in advance with the PE Faculty Chair. 

Retired Faculty and Staff

Provide identification verifying their previous employment at Portland Community College

Guests

Guests may be permitted on a one-time per term basis only with prior approval of the PE Faculty Chair and/or PE Sports Facilities Supervisor. Students may not bring their spouses and/or friends as guests to use Sylvania PE facilities. Local resident friends are required to enroll in Physical Education Activities (PE 10), or any other one credit class, or the equivalent cost in CEU or Community Education classes, and follow the procedures outlined above.

Use of Sylvania PE facilities outside of posted facility hours must be scheduled and approved in advance by the Sports Facilities Supervisor.
