Launch your career in sustainable building — enroll in BEAM. This entry-level, 60-hour, two-week intensive training experience introduces you to mass timber, an emerging industry in the Pacific Northwest. BEAM provides hands-on skills development, industry exposure, and insight into career opportunities.

After successfully completing the program, participants earn a PCC Trades Safety micro-credential that includes OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and Forklift certification, which are essential certifications in mass timber, construction and manufacturing sectors

Screening considerations

Prior experience with carpentry is not required to participate in this program. However,
we are seeking candidates who want to work in construction/manufacturing as a career
and want to learn about career roles in Mass Timber.

To be eligible for this class, you must be able to work in the U.S., have intermediate English skills, and be able to attend all 10 days of training.

Courses
Introduction to Mass Timber Fundamentals

This course introduces the essential skills required for entry-level positions in the mass timber construction sector. It provides hands-on skill development, industry exposure, and insight into career opportunities within this fast-growing, sustainable building field.

Coyne First Aid/CPR for Trades (CEU 925P)

Introduction to the prevention and initial care for the emergency moving of injured patients, including cardiac emergencies. Equips participants with life-saving first aid and CPR skills tailored for trade environments.

Forklift, Safety & Code (CEU 3168)

This skills training course is designed to help industrial lift operators drive safer, smarter, and more skillfully while following laws and regulations. Successful participants will earn Forklift Training Certification and be able to follow all related code and safety regulations.

OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training (CEU 3996)

Focuses on recognizing, avoiding, and preventing common workplace hazards, understanding workers’ rights, and knowing employer responsibilities under OSHA standards.Completion results in an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach card from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Trades Safety Micro-Credential

Complete Coyne First Aid/CPR for TradesForklift Safety & Code, and OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training to qualify for a Micro-Credential Certificate of Completion.
