Submit to The Bellwether Review

Who can contribute?

The Bellwether Review is a literary magazine made by students at the Portland Community College Rock Creek campus. Our editorial team primarily seeks to promote the work of PCC students, but we also consider a limited number of submissions from the general public.

If your work is selected for publication, you will receive a free copy of the journal upon its release in June 2026.

How to submit

To submit your work, please fill out this Google Form or email your submission to bellwetherreview@gmail.com. If you choose to email your submission, please include your name and the title(s) of the work you’re submitting in that email.

Submissions must be received by the first Friday in April. For the 2026 issue, the deadline is Friday, April 3 at midnight.

Submission guidelines

Any individual can submit up to five poems, two short stories, two scripts, two creative nonfiction essays, and/or four pieces of visual artwork. We generally do not publish research essays or works longer than 5,000 words.

If you have any questions about submitting to The Bellwether Review, please contact faculty advisor Karah Kemmerly at karah.kemmerly@pcc.edu.
