My Application – Part-Time Faculty Positions

What happens next?

Part-time Faculty Interest Pools

The PCC Departments will access this application pool when a need for new Part-time Faculty is identified on their campuses. This is NOT a recruitment for a currently open part-time position. Departments may review your application for a planned course assignment or for temporary coverage needs.

Instructor Qualifications

If a Part-time Faculty need is identified and you application materials are reviewed by the department, the initial review will be for the posted Instructor Qualifications for your discipline. They will then identify whether you meet the current specific department needs (for example – experience teaching specific courses, special scheduling, etc.). At that point, the department may contact you directly to schedule an interview (and possible teaching demonstration).

If you have not been contacted the PCC departments, it is likely that either no opportunity has yet been identified, or that your experience does not match the current specific need. We will contact you when planning begins for the next academic year, so that we can keep your application active in the pool.

Note Regarding Academic Credentials:
  • Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
  • Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
