Nature and Scope of Work

This position will provide district wide coordination and implementation for PCC’s Rape Prevention Education program. The incumbent will work closely with the Sylvania Women’s Resource Center Coordinator, staff and student leaders to plan events and activities, and promote and execute trainings and workshops. The incumbent may also develop and deliver classroom instruction focusing on the prevention of sexual assault.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Facilitates overall design and coordination of a comprehensive educational outreach program targeting students, staff, and faculty with the goal of preventing rape and sexual assault.
  2. Plans district-wide events and activities related to the Rape Prevention Education program.
  3. Designs, promotes and executes trainings, workshops, performances and classroom instruction for various audiences with the goal of rape prevention.
  4. Works collaboratively with faculty, Women’s Resource Center Coordinator, student leaders and other stakeholders across the district.
  5. Establishes and chairs a district-wide Rape Prevention Education Council.  Solicits committee membership, schedules meetings, sets agenda items, delegates assignments and provides technical and administrative support to the council.
  6. Mentors student leaders.
  7. Coordinates, develops and implements an outreach and marketing strategy including print, electronic and website content development.
  8. Provides students with information about campus and community resources.
  9. Works closely with Counseling staff, student services areas, and faculty to implement success initiatives.
  10. May assist with the preparation of annual reports detailing program successes and challenges.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Most of job time spent sitting with occasional walking, lifting, and guiding, and/or carrying of lightweight materials or equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in student development, psychology, social work, social science or related field is required. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.  Experience coordinating educational programs or community-based services. Experience working with survivors of sexual assault and conducting trainings on prevention and awareness. Demonstrated background of working with diverse populations is required.

Positions that teach credit courses may also be required to meet the following requirements:

Masters degree in student development, psychology, social work, social science, counseling, or other related field required.
