Portland Community College | Portland, Oregon Portland Community College

Foster youth transitioning into adulthood are more likely to experience hardships such as isolation, poverty, and homelessness. These students are capable, resilient, and adaptable, but without support, college success can be very difficult.

Funding for our students – such as emergency funds, book scholarships, and tuition assistance – comes from donations made through the PCC Foundation to PCC Fostering Success.

If you would like to help us develop the program to best serve our students, please consider making a donation. You can donate by clicking the link below and following these instructions:

  1. Choose “Other” from the “Designation” menu
  2. Type in “Account 377–PCC Fostering Success Program”

  • Only half of youth in care complete high school by their 18th birthday.
  • ~80% of foster students want to go to college, but only 20% actually attend.
  • Among those that enter college, only 3-10% will go on to get a four-year degree.
