Rules and eligibility

Participation

To be eligible to participate, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits at the time of the drawing
  • Be enrolled in the term for which the drawing is held
  • Be in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
  • Be in good disciplinary standing with Student Support and Intervention

Prize eligibility

Students must complete the registration form to be entered into prize drawings.

  • Term prizes: participants limited to one term prize / year. Term prize winners are still eligible for grand prize.
  • Top point-earner prize: finalists will be contacted to arrange attendance at the spring finale and must be present to win.
  • Grand prize: finalists will be contacted to arrange attendance at the spring finale and must be present to win.
    • Finalists must be 16 years or older at date of grand prize drawing.
    • PCC employees and immediate family members are not eligible for grand prize. Student employees are eligible if their primary role at PCC is student. Primary role is determined by PSEC classification. Students with a primary role of employee (e.g. full-time staff, faculty, management) are not eligible.

Official rules

Participation constitutes full and unconditional agreement to the official rules and to PCC’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Drive2Thrive program. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements, as set forth herein. PCC reserves the right to verify eligibility of winners and modify these rules, as needed, to comply with applicable law.

  • Participants may not share points with other students, submit points for events they have not attended, or submit points for other students.
  • Points are not awarded for activities completed prior to registering for Drive2Thrive.
  • Point values for activities will be published at the beginning of each term. PCC reserves the right to modify the point system with reasonable notice.
  • Participants are responsible for verifying the accuracy of their point totals. All point totals are considered final as of the last day of the term, unless a discrepancy is reported in writing within 7 days. Documentation may be required to support any appeal.
  • Any disputes or appeals regarding eligibility, points, or prize awarding must be submitted in writing within seven days of notification.
  • PCC reserves the right to disqualify any participant it believes has violated the rules, submitted false information, or engaged in dishonest behavior. If you’re aware of any attempts to cheat, please submit a report in the complaints and feedback form.
  • PCC staff may review top scorers prior to awarding to ensure initiative integrity.
  • By entering, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, and image for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
  • Prizes cannot be substituted, transferred, or redeemed for cash, except as required by law or permitted by PCC in its absolute and sole discretion. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited. Lost or stolen prizes or components will not be replaced. Prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. All prize details not specified in these rules will be determined in PCC’s sole and absolute discretion. Prize details are subject to change: PCC will provide reasonable notice of changes.

Taxes and financial aid

  • Where required by law, winners must provide a valid social security number or tax ID for tax reporting.
  • U.S. residents: prize value may be taxable. Winners are responsible for applicable taxes. For prizes valued over $600, PCC must report the value to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and issue an IRS Form 1099.
  • Cash prizes or gift cards valued at $600 or more in a calendar year require the issuance of an IRS Form 1099-MISC and may affect a student’s financial aid eligibility. PCC will evaluate the potential impact on financial aid and notify winners before awarding prizes. Other prizes will be reported as other income on IRS Form 1098-T.
  • Prize recipients are strongly encouraged to consult a tax professional.
