Course Description

Covers the roles and responsibilities of the paramedic student, program objectives, program terminal competencies, and introduction to paramedic level skills lab. Prerequisites: Department permission.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Discuss requirements for successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited paramedic program and terminal objectives to meet entry-level paramedic competency.
  2. Demonstrate basic (EMT) skill competency to meet the program required minimum iterations.
  3. Demonstrate CPR skill competency equivalent to current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
