Course Description

Provides an overview of the “people side” of leading early childhood learning programs. Promotes relationship building with staff and families including communication, relationship-based supervision, team building, staff performance evaluations, and multicultural curriculum. Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:  

  1. Identify and practice key components of strong relationship-based supervision.
  2. Describe quality ECE programming including multicultural practices, staff, and program evaluation. 
  3. Demonstrate professionalism and practice difficult decision-making regarding staff and families based on the NAEYC code of ethics.
