Course Description

Covers the architecture, components, and operation of routers and switches in an enterprise network. Explores how to configure Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) and routing protocols, troubleshoot routers and switches, and resolve common issues with networks. Part two of a three-course sequence to prepare for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching industry certification. Prerequisites: CIS 278A. Audit available.

Addendum to Course Description

This course prepares students to sit for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching industry certification.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Describe concepts related to the operation of routers and switches in an enterprise network.
  • Troubleshoot basic router and switch issues.
  • Perform intermediate configuration and troubleshooting tasks for routers and switches using Cisco devices.
