Course Description

Introduces industry-standard computer programming languages for creative purposes: graphics, sound, interactive applications, immersive experiences and games. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Write, execute and compile code.

  • Identify and define the basic elements of all computer programming languages.

  • Create motion graphics via textual programming using a specific industry-standard programming language.

  • Create procedural 2-D and 3-D vector and pixel based animations.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

  • In and out-of-class projects reviewed and evaluated by the instructor
  •  Instructor observations of student demonstrations of hands-on proficiency
