Course Description

Covers developing effective strategies and communications both verbally and written in a business context. Teaches gather and use of information in the workplace, presentation skills, team work, and developing an understanding of business ethics in an international market. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion students should be able to:

1. Acquire a foundation for moving into entry level employment.

2. Build a support network for personal and career mobility

Course Activities and Design

·         Model attitudes appropriate for work and school environments

·         Demonstrate on time-behavior and have ninety (90%) percent class attendance

·         Research personal assets and identify expenditures

·         Develop a personal budget

·         Demonstrate appropriateness of dress and participate in interviewing activities

·         Prepare for job search activities

·         Write resumes; Cover letters and Thank you notes

·         Develop employment search network
