Course Description

Examines legal principles in radiography by looking at a variety of topics related to medical/professional ethics. Includes discussions on the code of ethics and bioethical issues in radiography. Covers the attitudes and communication knowledge needed to develop critical thinking skills in patient care with diverse populations.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course the students should be able to:

1. Use critical thinking skills to obtain diagnostic images in a variety of complex situations.

2. Work within the ethical and professional parameters of the medical imaging profession.

3. Use professional and industry appropriate communication skills to converse with co-workers, medical professionals, and patients in a clinical setting.

4. Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern radiologic practice.
