Course Description

Advanced, individualized study in areas of philosophy not considered in other courses to meet special interests or program requirements. Complete a term project and readings approved by the instructor. Recommended: prior study in philosophy and instructor permission. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course


Students completing this course should be able to

  • Recognize the philosophical assumptions embedded in the students' own ideas about the issues addressed in the course
  • Read and critically assess writings within the area of philosophy addressed in the course
  • Discuss and reflect on the area of philosophy addressed in the course
