Course Description
Examines current issues affecting the role of parents in today's society. Covers the stages of early childhood development, age appropriate learning expectations, guidance techniques, and parental influence on child development over time. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
1. Use an understanding of child development and parenting skills in order to provide appropriate experiences for children birth - 5 years.
2. Respond to children using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques and child initiated exploration based upon an understanding of child growth and development.
