Course Description

Introduces basic engineering problem solving, analysis, and design. Covers basic concepts of statistics, electricity, and mechanics. Explores the use of relevant computational tools to enhance problem-solving capabilities. Emphasizes collaborative teamwork to foster innovation in design.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  1. Analyze and solve engineering problems and design solutions using logical and evidenced-based methods.

  2. Identify and use relevant computational tools to solve engineering problems.

  3. Develop effective collaboration skills to analyze discipline-specific problems, design innovative solutions, and generate and evaluate concepts.

  4. Develop a deep understanding of diverse audiences and design communication strategies to engage each group with clarity, relevance, and impact.

  5. Communicate technical concepts effectively through written, oral, digital or visual presentation.
