Course Description

Application is ready access, pressurized, direct buried, and pedestal-type enclosures, and the use of special splicing techniques. Includes test sets and fault locating equipment. Placing, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables in aerial applications is included. Audit available.

  1. Explain methods of aerial installations.
  2. Describe the operation of related test equipment.
  3. Identify applications of fiber optics in Outside Plant applications.
  4. Explain the difference between Inside and Outside applications.
  5. Discuss a typical Outside cable installation.
