Course Description

Provides hands-on training in root cause analysis and risk-reduction tools, including 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and fault tree analysis, building participants’ skills to make faster, more effective decisions in real-world production and quality scenarios.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Analyze real-world issues, deviations, and quality events to identify root causes and contributing factors.
Develop and apply an FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) using actual process steps, potential failure modes, and known risk points.
Evaluate complex failures and distinguish key contributing factors to develop actionable, operations-focused insights.
Evaluate and prioritize potential solutions to support faster, more effective decision-making in real-world production and quality scenarios.
