Course Description

Develop system-level diagnostic skills to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and sensor systems. Interpret industrial schematics, verify instrumentation and PLC/HMI signals, and perform GMP-compliant maintenance in biomanufacturing environments.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Identify and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and sensor subsystems using a holistic "system-level" approach.
Interpret complex industrial schematics and safely troubleshoot motors, power distribution, and control circuits.
Configure and verify signal accuracy for various industrial sensors and actuators within an automated loop.
Navigate PLC architecture and I/O tagging to trace signals and perform non-programming logic verification.
