Course Description
Covers chainsaw safety, PPE, and industry standards. Students will demonstrate proper starting procedures, understand reactive forces, and apply safe handling, ergonomics, and cutting techniques under instruction.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Identify required personal protective equipment (PPE) for chainsaw operation.
Describe relevant safety standards for arboricultural chainsaw operations.Demonstrate proper chainsaw starting procedures.
Explain chainsaw reactive forces and their implications for safe operation.
Demonstrate safe ergonomics, handling, and operational techniques when using a chainsaw.
Apply safe cutting techniques in controlled practice scenarios.
