Course Description
Covers chainsaw cutting system components and relationships. Students will identify chain types, choose correct sharpening tools, and perform precision sharpening to maintain cutting performance and safety.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Identify saw chain components and common chain types.
2. Explain the functional relationship between the guide bar, saw chain, and power head in the cutting system.
3. Select appropriate file sizes and sharpening tools for specific chain types.
4. Demonstrate proper techniques for precision sharpening of saw chain.
