Course Description

Implementation and troubleshooting of industrial networks to connect and share I/O data between controllers. Learn to integrate large systems of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motion controllers, and robots to build an advanced manufacturing cell.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Connect devices using Ethernet, fiber optic, and other networks.
Understand basic computer networking subnet structures.
Connect to various systems using modern and legacy network interfaces.
Link multiple CPUs and share process data.
Design and program an entire automated process.
Integrate equipment including robots, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and motion/process controls.
