Course Description

Covers the foundations of the ancient health system of Ayurveda (Indian medicine) for PItta season. Discover how to balance the mind, body and spirit through both Yoga and Ayurveda. Explore healthy skin, eyes, hair, wellness and bliss from the inside out. Emphasis on health management of Summer (Pitta) systems and appropriate balance with food, nutrition, lifestyle and routines. Course includes both theory and practical applications from Mudra, Marma and Bhandha to Asana, Yantra and Mantra; this class covers it all! This course is offered during the Summer terms.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

Analyze seasonal factors that influence Pitta balance and select appropriate foods, spices, and routines to support summer wellness.
Evaluate the science-based benefits of Mudra, Marma, Mantra, and Kirtan practices within Ayurvedic wellness traditions.
Demonstrate introductory yoga, breathing, and aromatherapy techniques to support Pitta balance.
Apply Ayurvedic principles, including protocols, spices, and herbs, to support practices that promote optimal skin health.
