Course Description
Covers the principles of the ancient health system of Ayurveda (Indian medicine). Discover how to balance the mind, body and spirit through both Yoga and Ayurveda. Emphasis on health management of Spring (Kapha) systems and appropriate balance with food, nutrition, lifestyle, yoga and routines. Learn cleansing recommendations for rejuvenation, Neti an (nasal oil drops), Neti (nasal cleansing), personalized massage oils, powders, and preparatory process for Panchakarma therapy. This course is offered during the Spring terms.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Explain health management in Ayurveda for Kapha balancing for spring
Define a personalized approach to food, nutrition, lifestyle and routines for Kapha
Identify and teach yoga practices for a healthy respiratory system for clients and students
Explain process, benefits, and appropriateness of Nasya (nasal oil drops) or Neti (nasal salt water cleansing) practices.
Demonstrate ability to recommend personalized massage oils, powders, and relevant preparatory process for Panchakarma therapy
