Course Description
Covers foundational Ayurvedic principles for winter (Vata) health management. Participants will learn core assessment techniques, including introductory pulse and tongue analysis, while gaining practical skills in seasonal nutrition, therapeutic cooking, daily routines, restorative yoga, breathwork, aromatherapy, marma, and basic herbs. This course is offered during the Winter terms.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Explain at least three integrative strategies to balance mind, body, and spirit during Vata season using principles of both Yoga and Ayurveda.
Evaluate Dosha imbalances and analyze client assessment data to select appropriate health recommendations for Vata season.
Formulate individual recommendations using Ayurvedic culinary practices, foods, spices, basic herbs, restorative yoga postures, and aromatherapy tailored for Vata Dosha balance.
Demonstrate effective instruction of three Pranayama (breathing) practices, incorporating optional marma points, mudras, or chanting.
