Course Description

Focuses on Materia Medica (study of specific herb properties), Herbal Energetics, Herbal Preparations, Plant Chemistry, Chinese and Ayurvedic herbalism, Modern Phytotherapy, the Digestive and Cardiovascular systems and Integrative Healing: Aromatherapy and Homeopathy.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Classify 50 medicinal herbs into functional groups based on botanical taxonomy, physiological actions, and non-therapeutic criteria.
Prepare and apply 10 selected herbal preparations in a professional setting using techniques covered in the course.
Recommend appropriate herbal supports for at least 10 digestive system pathologies and 10 cardiovascular system pathologies.
Design herbal protocols for at least 20 pathologies using Western, Ayurvedic, and Chinese herbs while incorporating relevant clinical considerations.
Explain the fundamental principles and structure of Chinese herbal philosophy.
