Course Description

Course is for entry-level and experienced coders. A & P for coders preparing for ICD-10. Focus systems are nervous, musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic, gastrointestinal and ENT with some additional body systems. This is a required prereq for ICD-10 training.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Identify the focus systems including nervous, musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic, gastrointestinal and ENT (and some others) and understand their function relative to medical coding. Understand and articulate the deeper level of anatomy required as the healthcare system moves toward ICD-10.
