Course Description
Examines the diversity of mammalian taxa and how this relates to their captive husbandry and management needs and conservation issues. Department permission required. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion, students should be able to:
- Effectively research and communicate information about a diversity of mammals to a variety of
audiences. - Manage captive populations of mammals in a team environment through the appropriate application of knowledge of their specific biology and husbandry requirements.
- Advocate for mammalian conservation programs
Course Activities and Design
The format for this course is traditional lecture presentations and class discussions. Lecture will be presented utilizing a variety of multimedia and interactive presentations.
