Course Description
Covers risk assessment, risk reduction, and treatment methods in addiction counseling. Includes required documentation and reporting practices. Taught completely in Spanish. Prerequisites: AD 120E, AD 121E, and AD 122E. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Communicate in a non-judgmental and trauma-informed way around risk factors.
- Implement risk assessments.
- Document referral process.
- Describe protocols and procedures around confidentiality and mandated reporting.
- Identify signs and symptoms of imminent risk.
