Includes basic history, terminology, etiquette, strategies and skills of the game. Audit available.

Addendum to Course Description

Each student provides appropriate sport clothing for activity. Sport shoes are required for activity.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate continued improvement of physical conditioning.
  2. Develop skills for maintaining lifelong fitness.
  3. Demonstrate skills, terminology, and techniques for basic volleyball.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of basic volleyball rules.
  5. Demonstrate teamwork play.

  2. Perform beginning physical skills of volleyball, including setting, serving, passing, spiking, and blocking
  3. Apply basic rule use in play
  4. Participate in team play
  5. Demonstrate basic game strategies
