Course Description
Introduces theory of effective addiction group counseling. Includes strategies for group development and for effective group leader facilitation. Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
- Implement effective addiction counseling strategies for group facilitation.
- Identify the characteristics of an effective group facilitator.
- Define types and stages of group development.
- Describe effective group involvement.
