In this work, Freedman displays the influence of the renowned American artist Alexander Calder, who exhibited his first mobile-a term he used to describe his suspended, kinetic sculptures – in 1932. Like Calder, Freedman uses simple shapes and primary colors, and the piece derives its interest from its constantly shifting composition.
