This colorful painting was made from observation in the artist's backyard at a particularly propitious moment in spring when Viburnum, Azaleas, Bluebells and Mallow were all in bloom. The lushness of the colors may also reflect the time the artist spent painting in the Brazilian jungle in 1985. The title is taken from a poem by Antonio Machado: "There the good and kind spirits of life are waiting for you/ and one day they will carry you / to a garden of eternal spring."
