With its washes of lyrical color and attention to delicate geometries, Silent Snow, Secret Snow exemplifies the somewhat architectural style for which Bill Hoppe is best known. Hoppe received his MFA from the University of Washington. He has exhibited widely in this country and his work can be found in major museum collections in the Pacific Northwest and in such public buildings as the State Capitol in Salem and the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
