With their delicate shapes and layered washes of color, Margot Voorhies Thompson's paintings begin to suggest her fascination with various printmaking techniques and with the art of calligraphy, which she first studied at Reed College in Portland. Thompson is also a prolific public artist and her work can be found in many locations around Portland, most notably at Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Portland State University.
