A still from the acclaimed 2000 film In the Mood For Love by Hong Kong director Kar-wai Wong served as the source material for Andres' demonstration painting of three values in a limited, red orange palette. The film, set in British Hong Kong in the early 1960's, has a strong sense of place and time, including the distinctive dress (called a qipao) worn by the actress Maggie Cheung, and fashionable in Hong Kong at that time.
