The following guidance operationalizes the ways in which PCC honors our commitment to ensure equal access for students who experience disability.
Service Animal Policy
The purpose of this Service Animal Policy is to ensure that students, employees, and guests with disabilities who have service animals can participate in and benefit from PCC services, programs, and activities, and to ensure that the PCC does not discriminate on the basis of disability as identified in Titles I and II of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and state antidiscrimination laws.

Disability Services Practice for Releasing Information
- If a student only wants to authorize Disability Services to communicate with a particular point of contact (for example you want DS to speak with your mental health counselor or you want DS specific information sent to another point of contact), you can use our DS ROI form
- If a student wants multiple departments at PCC to communicate with a particular point of contact (for example you want DS, as well as Financial Aid to talk to your parent or guardian), you can use the PCC ROI form, or follow these instructions to log into MyPCC then from the Home Tab, go to the "Quick Links" section and choose "Consent to Release".
- If a student wishes to obtain a copy of the disability documentation they provided to the college, there is no need for a release so long as the request is coming directly from the student. We do, however need a request. Students can make those requests through their official PCC email account, and receive the documents by coming to one of our campus locations in person with ID.
Process for Resolving Accommodation Concerns
Portland Community College supports you and your right to request and receive appropriate adjustments. Disability Services process for resolving accommodation concerns outlines the way we will work in a liaison capacity to address questions and concerns and ensure the college honors our requirements for student access as outlined in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended. Students who feel they have been discriminated against, or harassed, on the basis of disability should utilize the grievance procedure available through the Office of Equity and Inclusion.
