Details about this class

There are two modalities for our course: online (asynchronous) and remote (live via Zoom). Asynchronous work is material that you will work through and learn from on your own through our D2L course homepage. Remote is when we all meet and work together in a live session via Zoom. These sessions will be recorded.

Everything in this course is web-based, including homework.

  • On Mondays, the week's asynchronous learning modules and lectures will be posted at 8:00 a.m. on D2L.
    • Half of the week's homework will be assigned on Mondays and will be due before class starts on Wednesdays (asynchronous)
  • On Wednesdays, we will meet via Zoom from 9-10:50 a.m.  Attendance is required.
    • Our Wednesday class will be hands-on work with writing. It is important to be prepared for this by completing Monday's homework ahead of class.
    • Make sure you have a relatively quiet and focused study space AND adequate technology (a computer, laptop, or tablet... not just a phone). Don't forget to charge your device!
    • The other half of the week's homework will be assigned on Wednesdays and due by 10 pm on Sunday.

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
