PCC offers four medical plans including two preferred provider organization (PPO) plans, a major medical plan that requires enrollment in a Health Savings Account (HSA), and a health maintenance organization (HMO). All plans include prescription drug coverage. There is no pre-existing condition waiting period for new employees or eligible dependents, including domestic partners, with the exception of some transplant services. Full-time employees choosing to opt out of medical, dental and vision coverage receive up to $200 cash back per month. Part-time faculty are not eligible for the opt out incentive; it is prorated for other part-time employees.
New employees who are benefits eligible must enroll in their choice of medical plan during the first 31 days of benefit eligibility, except for part-time faculty. Part-time faculty who meet the minimum qualifications for eligibility are benefits eligible October 1st each year. If you do not enroll in a medical plan, you will be automatically enrolled in the PCC default plan (Moda Plan E), self only. Changes to medical insurance elections can be made during Open Enrollment each year. These changes become effective October 1st of each year. If you have a qualified status change, you may enroll or make certain changes mid year. Consult a Benefits Specialist for details.
