Course Description
Part of a three-course sequence to be taken in any order. Improve experienced speaker of Spanish skill in spelling, grammar, reading, composition and translation. Recommended: Experienced speaker of Spanish who can read and write.Addendum to Course Description
################Intended Outcomes for the course
The student:- Reads comprehensibly a variety of Spanish texts.
- Writes in an organized manner.
- Speaks Spanish avoiding literal translations and false cognates.
- Understands the rules of spelling and accents.
- Recognizes and appreciates linguistic and cultural diversity within the Hispanic world.

Students will be assessed by any combination of the following:- Active participation in class
- Written compositions related to the course readings and discussions
- Individual and group presentations

- Discusses his/her ideas with classmates and instructor.
- Writes in an organized manner.
- Works at improving in the use of accents and other typical spelling mistakes.
- Translates paragraph-length texts.
- Uses authentic and correct Spanish instead of pidgins, vernaculars, or otherwise non-standard dialects when speaking and writing.
