Week 7 homework (August 3 and 5, 2026)

Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.

Homework from class Monday, August 3, 2026:

1. Student Book page 61 Exercises D & E.  Review the text about Death Valley (audio here) and try Exercises D & E.

2. Student Book page 59, Exercise E <– Click here for the audio.  Listen to the questions about Montana and write them in your notebook.

3. Review and finish the handout about too/enough.  For extra writing practice, copy the exercises into your notebook.

Homework from class Wednesday, August 5, 2026:

1. Practice with punctuation and capital letters (<– Click here for the handout.) Correct the mistake with capital letters, punctuation and spelling on the handout, or, for extra writing practice, copy the paragraphs into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class.

2. Practice with Death Valley vocabulary (<– Click here for the handout.) Finish each sentence with one of the vocabulary words on page 60, Exercise C. For extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class.

3. Reading on Student Book page 135 — gray box only.  Read the short text about a wildfire.  Circle new vocabulary.  Think about the information and how it is similar to what is happening in Oregon now.  We’ll talk about this in class next week.

  • Extra –> Look online:  Where are the Oregon wildfires right now? When do they usually happen? Why do they happen so often?

4.  Past tense verb list #1 <– Click here for the handout.  Use this link (<–) to help you with pronunciation. We’ll practice these in class.
