Week 2 homework (June 29 & July 1, 2026)
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from class Monday, June 29, 2026:
1. Student Book page 8. Please read the blue grammar box with all the faces. We’ll talk about this grammar on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
2. Student Book pages 10 and 12. Please read page 10 “Class Expectations” and page 12 “English is Frustrating!” You can also listen to page 12 <– click here. We’ll talk about expectations and goals, and the language to express them, in class on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
3. Continue to practice the questions & answers that we learned in class:
- “Using Social Language” handout (with the faces)
- Practice the clarification questions (small pink slip)
4. Practice the pronunciation of ordinal numbers (first, second, third, etc.) with these webpages:

Homework from class Wednesday, July 1, 2026:
1. Workbook page 5, Exercises F & G. You can complete the exercises in your workbook, or, for more writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook (recommended). Remember for Exercise G, you need to change the verb (-s or no -s, is or are) depending on a singular or plural subject. We’ll check your answers in class on Monday, July 6, 2026.
2. Listening about expectations <– Click here for the audio. Listen and write the 12 sentences, like a dictation, in your notebook. Example for #1: Students can come to class late. Then decide if the sentence is true or false for our class. We’ll check your writing in class on Monday, July 6, 2026.
3. Student Book pages 12-13.
