Cyber Security Awareness Month

Cyber Security Awareness Month

National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), observed every October by proclamation of President Obama, was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. This year’s theme is “Building a Cyber Strong America,” which focuses on strengthening our country’s infrastructure against threats to our digital information.

PCC participates in the global effort to help everyone stay safe and secure online. Did you know we have an Information Security Department? They have a collection of videos to guide you through some ways to better protect your information.

Recommended Guide

PCC Librarians have put together a Personal Finance Guide with information about ways to protect yourself from identity information data breaches. Topics include how to lock down your money, how to track your credit score, how to place a fraud alert, how to recover from identity theft and much more.

Additionally, we have a Scams guide that offers information on recent common scams, including email, dating app, and AI deepfake techniques among others.
