Celebrating Native and Indigenous Creativity

Celebrating Native and Indigenous Creativity

PCC Library invites you to explore Native American and Indigenous writers. This month, we are highlighting Indigenous authors, scientists, legislators, and storytellers’ ebooks, graphic novels, articles, and podcasts. Check out a new author or revisit an old favorite.

In 2021, the American Indian Library Association sponsored the “Read Native 2021” event to encourage readers to explore the rich and diverse writings of Native Americans and people indigenous to this land. This news feature continues that reading challenge. While our collection is far from exhaustive, we hope this will be a good starting place for you.

Native and indigenous authors write in every genre and format you can think of. Often, we tend to limit ourselves: “I only read fantasy. I only like fiction. I never read biographies.” Here is a chance to branch out and find engaging and thought-provoking reading in every genre.
